Meet the Artist

Kathryn Jeanne Phillips is an award winning fiber artist, with over 30 years experience in the textile, home, apparel and craft industries. She currently serves as Chief Curator at Baxter Mill Archive, overseeing the creative development of a collection of more than one million antique textiles, documents and rare European design books.

Her professional background includes high-profile brand initiatives and curating collections for nationally recognized companies. After more than 30 years in the corporate world, and heading into “semi-retirement”, Kathryn has returned to the roots of what drew her to this field in the first place—her love for fabric, thread, and the tactile beauty of handmade work. Through Kathryn Jeanne Studio, she now channels that experience into creating fiber art that is deeply inspired by the natural world creating one of a kind pieces of floral, fauna, and portraitures.

Kathryn has taught textile design at Winthrop University and holds a M.F.A. in Theatre Design with a concentration in Costume Design from University of Connecticut.
