Kathryn Jeanne Phillips is an award-winning artist, designer, curator, and educator whose work is inspired by the intersection of art, fashion, nature, and textile heritage.

With more than three decades of experience spanning the textile, home furnishings, apparel, and craft industries, Kathryn has built a career rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and visual storytelling. She currently serves as Chief Curator of Baxter Mill Archive, where she oversees one of the nation's most significant collections of historic textiles, antique documents, and rare European design books—an archive of more than one million pieces spanning centuries of global design history.

Drawing upon her extensive background in design, costume, and textile arts, Kathryn creates original works that celebrate the beauty of the natural world while exploring the stories woven into materials, culture, and history. Her artistic practice includes mixed media, fiber art, illustration, and wearable art, transforming traditional techniques into contemporary expressions of creativity.

A passionate advocate for arts education, Kathryn has taught textile design at Winthrop University and will return to the classroom in Fall 2026 to teach Children's Illustration. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design with a concentration in Costume Design from the University of Connecticut.

Whether creating artwork for exhibition, designing runway pieces for the ArtPop Upcycled Fashion Show, or mentoring the next generation of artists, Kathryn approaches every project with a belief that art has the power to connect people, preserve stories, and inspire wonder.

Through Kathryn Jeanne Studio, she continues to explore the rich relationship between art, fashion, and storytelling—creating work that honors the past while imagining new possibilities for the future.
